Legend says that hummingbirds float free of time, unrestrained, and carrying love, joy, and celebration. These birds have a delicate grace that reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, and laughter is one of the sweetest creations. The Humming Bird sparkling wine captures this sweet essence, inspired by the beautiful birds. Fit for any celebration, the fizz of the bubbles are a wonderful reminder to see the joy in life.
Sparkling Wine Bubbles
The origin and type of bubbles are what defines the sparkling wine. The most famous sparkling wine of course is Champagne from the eponymous region in France. All sparkling wines are effervescent due to the absorption of carbon dioxide into the wine itself during fermentation. There are 3-methods used to achieve this.
Traditional Method – Specific amounts of sugar & yeast added to a second fermentation in sealed bottles. Creates a more complex sparkling wine.
Tank or “Charmat” Method – Shorter time period, less expensive, most poplar method worldwide.
Ancestral Method – Considered the earliest and easiest form. Uses icy temperatures to pause fermentation.
Other sparkling wines are made when the bubbles (or carbonation) is created in large tanks. While there are many inexpensive, simple sparkling wines made in this method, there are some excellent examples, most notably Prosecco.
Inspired by the best, our sparkling wines fizz with delight and evoke a sense of celebration and luxury in every bottle.
